A Father’s Right

A Father’s Right

A man teaching his child how to read and walk. The proud father showing his son how to be a man. The teary-eyed dad escorting his daughter down the aisle at her wedding. The father thanked at graduation for being an inspiration. Sentimental, but not reality—at least not in Georgia. Unless the parents of a child are married, the man is not legally recognized as a father and has no parental rights—but may still have obligations.
